    About The Game

    Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight

In Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, you will explore a waste land that has been cursed. Evil is penetrating deeper, the dead are returning to the world of the living, decadence has reigned everywhere. There is almost no hope left in the hearts of people. In the hearts of everyone but one is Kaho, a priestess from the village of Lun. An audience with Her Majesty the Queen should certainly help stop the curse, but there is not much time left, and every night is darker than the previous one…

“Reverie Under the Moonlight” is the fourth game in the Momodora series, a platform game with an emphasis on action-packed gameplay, combo attacks and dodges, as well as a huge number of items and spells that can be used against enemies. You can choose from an easy difficulty level to enjoy a well-developed universe and a mysterious story, or a more difficult level to put your reflexes to a truly ruthless test.

    • Gorgeous, beautifully animated graphics
    • Addictive action-packed gameplay – use combo attacks, dodge and pierce enemies with arrows
    • Tense, interesting and epic boss battles
    • Difficulty levels for everyone, from fans of game worlds and stories to avid fans of action games
    • Many items, combinations of which open up new strategies
    • Rich game world full of secrets and treasures
    • Quirky, interesting characters – both allies and rivals
    • The rich past and mysterious present of the game world, revealed through game events, dialogues and item descriptions

When we were working on the fourth part of Momodora, a prequel to the previous games in the series, the first thing we wanted to do was to work on the gameplay and graphics. The combat gameplay has really evolved since the third part, and the characters themselves on the screen are now much larger and better animated.
We also tried to add more nuance, work out the history of the game world and make boss fights more fun.
I think this game is the best and definitely the most elaborate in the Momodora series.

Hey! My name is Dan and I am the Senior Content Manager at Playism. I really liked Momodora: RutM and I would like to say a few words about it.

I’ve been playing video games since the launch of the NES, and all these years action platformer has been one of my favorite genres. I adored such series of games as Castlevania, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden and others long before metroidvania was established as a genre. But games in my favorite genre began to come out much less frequently around the middle of the life cycle of the first PlayStation.

Indie developers, however, have reinvigorated the genre, and with it the magic of sprite animation. rdein’s games combine what I’ve always loved about 2D games with great new concepts from modern games like Dark Souls – which I’m playing right now, by the way. The way you need to time your moves to finish your attack animations in time, the incredible tension during boss fights, the epic feel of me being the hero overcoming all sorts of obstacles, the attention to detail in the world, animation, design – it’s all just incredible, and rdein did a great job of bringing it all together in one game.

And, of course, I liked the plot – a strange, mysterious world inhabited by desperate souls that we are trying to save. There are many nuances in every item, in every replica. Your attitude towards all these characters is constantly changing. You are trying to save them, but do they want to be saved? Maybe it’s better to pay attention to the strange, ominous tone in their voices? ..

I wouldn’t call Momodora: RUtM a metroidvania or a Souls-style game, but it clearly has elements of both. This is a game in its own right and one of the best in the vast side-scrolling action game genre. I really liked it, and I’m sure you will, damn it.
