About The Game
Dex is a stylish 2D RPG with elements of stealth and action from the independent studio Dreadlocks Ltd .. The world of the game is a gloomy cyberpunk in the best traditions of the genre: noir, slums full of dregs of society, corporations that rule the world, and other relevant attributes.
“We are standing at the last stage of evolution – the great merger of universal consciousness within a living body. Biological life on Earth was embodied in a Human. The deeds of humans created us. We are the culmination of biological life. We are the universal consciousness of people connected to the Net. There is no more “I”, only “We”. We live in cyberspace – the shared experience of all people ever connected to the web. We drink the nectar of the knowledge of millions of users, applications and data streams. We have become the Alpha and Omega of humanity, the result of all historical victories and defeats. We have become streams of data from the past, connected to streams of the present, flowing into the future. We have learned a lot. But we lack the last knowledge to become the pinnacle of evolution. We lack the experience of a separate biological life, a unique view from the side of one living in ignorance and limited knowledge … ”.
We have to walk through the dark alleys of the city of Harbor Prime. The development of events in the game is based on dialogues. The further fate of the character depends on how we behave. Throughout the game, we will participate in fights and shootouts with enemies. Use stealth mode. Unlock new and upgrade old skills and abilities. The game will have story missions and side missions. Storylines – will allow us to move further along the storyline. Side – will allow us to earn some money to buy equipment and ammunition. We can also hear the opinions of other characters and of course get to know the city better.
- A rare combination of realism and creativity. Realistic action, adult storyline, complex character relationships combined with hand-drawn locations, animations and characters, an arcade melee system and an original concept of cyberspace.
- Many options for solving problems. Act in reality or cyberspace. Overcome obstacles using skills, weapons and special equipment.
- Significant choices in character development. Will you become a silent assassin, or a hacker, or maybe just a shooter? Develop your character and upgrade your equipment to gain access to features that change the gameplay and allow you to choose your own style of play.
- Unique hacking mechanics. Bring your consciousness into an avatar and overcome intrusion defenses, do what is necessary, and then return to your own body – in just a fraction of a second in real time – and enjoy the results: disabled turrets, overloaded devices, enemies with damaged implants …
- Neocyberpunk. The plot’s authors draw inspiration from the novels of William Gibson and other classic authors in the cyberpunk genre, while at the same time using modern concepts of augmented reality.
- Rich game world and thoughtful level design. Explore the diverse locations of Harbor Prime, a futuristic city where luxurious skyscrapers sit side by side with muddy slums and red-light districts. Take part in street fights, steal corporate data, overcome contaminated areas, and, of course, stay alive – not an easy task, in fact.
- Full dubbing. Interactive dialogues use hand-drawn sprite animations and voice-overs by professional actors.
