About The Game

In Thrive, you take control of an organism on an alien planet, starting with the Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA). Your goal is to survive in your environment, adapt your species by adding mutations, and thrive. Other species will appear that will compete with yours. They will evolve through simulations based on population dynamics, with random mutations – you must improve and spread your species to surpass them. The success of your species depends both on your ability to survive as an individual cell and on the changes you make in the editor.

In the Microbe stage, you control a single microbe or a colony of microbes linked together. You swim through the aquatic environment to find the resources your cell needs to survive and reproduce. After breeding, you enter the editor, where you can check how well your and other species are surviving, move into new biomes, and change your species. Add new organelles, change the membrane, and change the appearance of your cell. Your goal is to become a more complex life form by first developing a nucleus to become a eukaryote and then using binding agents to form cell colonies, the precursors of the first multicellular life forms.

How to Download & Install Thrive Linux Game

Click the Download link below and you should already have installed a download client on your system.
Notification will pop and say “that our site wants to open this application”. Click the button to open the client to let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
Once Game Thrive for linux is done downloading, Extract (Unzip) “*******.tar.gz” -if you encounter this file- (To do this you must know how extract .tar.gz Files using Linux Command Line here).
Right click the ./start.sh, select “Properties”, go to the “Permissions” tab, mark the file as executable. Then just treat it more or less like one of those Setup.exe’s on Windows. Double-click it to run it.
