About The Game

Payday 2 is a robbery simulator game (continuation of Payday: The Heist). The style of passing depends entirely on the player. You can go to work without really worrying about stealth, shooting everyone in your path, or you can act like a ninja and turn everything around unnoticed. Everyone develops their own strategy over time, but no matter how you act, loudly or quietly, because each of the two methods is exciting in its own way. The game includes dozens of locations and does not seem to be the same, the bots are placed randomly, part of the terrain is randomly generated (location of doors, rooms, cameras, etc.).

How to Download & Install PAYDAY 2 Linux Game

1. Click the Download link below and you should already have installed a download client on your system.
2. Notification will pop and say “that our site wants to open this application”. Click the button to open the client to let the download begin and wait for it to finish.
3. Once Game PAYDAY 2 for linux is done downloading, Extract (Unzip) “*******.tar.gz” -if you encounter this file- (To do this you must know how extract .tar.gz Files using Linux Command Line here).
4. Right click the ./start.sh, select “Properties”, go to the “Permissions” tab, mark the file as executable. Then just treat it more or less like one of those Setup.exe’s on Windows. Double-click it to run it.

Installation:
Unpack the archive to any location and run the start script

For possible problems:
0) Does not start, says Permission denied – grant launch rights (right-click in properties or chmod +x start and in the game folder payday2_release file)
1) It doesn’t start, it says something about graphics – when starting we pass the parameter LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1
2) No audio. With Pulseaudio, in theory, it should be pulled up automatically, most often this is the case for those who do not have pulseaudio (pure alsa). There is a solution, you don’t need to install pulseaudio for the sake of the game, install apulse, specify the path to LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/apulse before starting. This is an EXAMPLE from my Devuan system, the real path to apulse (directory with libraries) can be viewed in the package or file manager. If the problem is with pulseaudio, specify the path to pulseaudio in the same way.

The most reliable (but not the most convenient) option: Open the terminal, execute the command cd path ~/PAYDAY2/game (or where the game is unpacked, but always in the game subdirectory), run the following command LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/apulse ~/PAYDAY2/game/payday2_release
