    About The Game

    OneShot

A surreal adventure puzzle game with unique game mechanics and possibilities.
You have to guide a child through a mysterious world with the goal of reviving a long-dead sun.
…Of course, everything is not so simple.

    The world knows you exist.
    The consequences are significant.
Saving the world may be impossible.

    You only have one chance.

    PECULIARITIES

    – Game mechanics that extend beyond the game window.
    – Memorable soundtrack and corresponding art design.
    – A unique relationship between the game and the player.
    – A nagging feeling that you won’t know the whole story unless you know where to look.

    CONTENT WARNING
While OneShot is not a horror game in the traditional sense, some parts of the game may be paranoid. Proceed with caution.

    CLOSING THE GAME WINDOW
Don’t worry, you can do this safely. This action will only save your progress.

    4. Right click the ./start.sh, select “Properties”, go to the “Permissions” tab, mark the file as executable. Then just treat it more or less like one of those Setup.exe’s on Windows. Double-click it to run it.

    Additional information :
Required dependencies (Arch) – dwarfs (from AUR or chaotic-aur repository) and fuse-overlayfs (may be called differently for your distribution)
Necessary fixes for work have been applied https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Steam/Game-specific_troubleshooting#OneShot
Sprites have been replaced with higher quality ones

As you progress, the game creates the necessary files with hints
    Saves – home/.local/share/OneShot
    Useful stuff – home/Documents/

    Played on Plasma 6 Wayland
The game is 99% functional – at a certain point it may try to give a hint by replacing the wallpaper on the desktop (1 time per game). On Plasma it couldn’t (possibly because I have a plugin for video wallpaper)
    The hint itself:
    hidden text
Also at some point you will need a launch file, a shortcut to which will appear in Documents. Solving problems with unmounting – launch the game, launch the file, restart the game (or you can unpack and launch it directly from the root of the game)

    Installation order :
    Download
    Run
    Play

    Launch – start.n.sh
If you want to unpack and dig around – settings.sh extract-dwarfs
