About The Game
Black Mesa (Black Mesa – a research complex in the desert of New Mexico) – an updated version of the Half-Life game, the development of the game was started by an independent development team in 2004, with the aim of recreating the original game using the capabilities of the improved Source engine. All textures, models and levels have been reworked, the “sprint” function of a protective suit and binoculars has been added (or rather left in the Source code), a system of achievements has been introduced. The developers completely recreated the storyline, only slightly changing it, without violating the overall message and balance of the game.

I’m still not very familiar with Linux but I’m making progress and I managed to start Black Mesa on the Geruda Linux distro (derivative of Arch Linux) the game has a fabulous frame rate and at the beginning it looks great but after a while in the gaseous clouds of fire there are some graphic artefacts and then in the next level after you explore the underground structures the brightness drops almost completely making the game unplayable because you can hardly see anything even if you keep the torch on. I think it’s a compatibility problem with my distro or with the system kernel. Anyway, a big thank you to the person who posted the game
The native version of the game has a lot of technical problems, as the developers themselves say. The most obvious one is that the flashlight is broken, both 3 years ago when I tried the pirated version and now on Steam after the necropatch. I suggest replacing the native version with Windows with Wine included.
